The ‘Solar Boats’ project event which has been held at Plas Menai for the last two
years in June is now being expanded to include a focus on our Renewable Energy project.
During the last year we have developed this part of the project to include water
and wind turbines with the latest addition focusing on energy storage using Hydrogen
Fuel Cell technology.
Your school can engage with this flexible project in two ways-
1 Register with us to take part in the project before the event at Plas Menai with
a range of renewable energy resources to suit your needs which are free to all participating
These will comprise of equipment to design and build renewable wind water and solar
generators which will be used to power your renewables boats to be raced at the Regatta.
There will also be a limited quantity of Hydrogen Fuel Cell kits for schools wishing
to explore this technology.
An INSET start-up session will be organised with you as an individual school or as
part of a local cluster to demonstrate potential classroom delivery.
2 Attend the Regatta Day event to participate in our interactive workshops building
renewables generators and solar boats
